  • Dr. Katrina C. Chin Loy, M.D.

    Katrina C. Chin Loy, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and anterior segment surgery. She received her B.A. cum laude from Barnard College at Columbia University, majoring in Neuroscience and Behavior. She later pursued her M.D. at Howard University College of Medicine where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. She completed her intern year in Internal Medicine at University of California, Irvine and then returned to Howard for her ophthalmology residency training, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Chin Loy treats a variety of eye diseases including dry eye, cataract, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease. She is passionate about resident education, mentorship, wellness, and disparities in healthcare, all of which she has spoken about on various national platforms, including annual meetings for the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Minority Ophthalmology Mentoring Program, Women in Ophthalmology, and the Association for University Professors of Ophthalmology. Dr. Chin Loy has a faculty appointment at Howard University, where she has served as the Residency Program Director. She currently serves on the board of the Prevention of Blindness’ Emerging Leaders Committee, is the President of the Washington District of Columbia Metropolitan Ophthalmological Society (WDCMOS), and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Minority Ophthalmology Mentoring Program Subcommittee. She serves on the Elder Board of her church and lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Anthony, and their three children.

  • Dr. Jessica Yang OD

    Dr. Jessica Yang is an Optometrist and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Yang grew up in Toronto, Canada and attended McMaster University for her undergraduate studies in Life Sciences. She moved to New York City to attend optometry school at SUNY State College of Optometry. There, she was invited to join Beta Sigma Kappa, an International Optometric Honor Society. She trained at the Vision Institute of Canada and at Newington VA Hospital. After graduating, she accepted a position as Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY where she supervised and trained pediatric residents at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She has been an Optometrist for almost two decades and has experience in pediatrics, contact lenses, dry eye and computer vision syndrome. She has travelled to provide free eye care to the people of Haiti, Nepal, Mexico, Peru, and Tibet. In her free time, she loves to cook, hike, and travel with her husband and kids.

  • Dr. Alisa Thavikulwat MD

    Dr. Alisa Thavikulwat Dr. Alisa Thavikulwat is a Board-Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist. Dr. Thavikulwat was born and raised in Towson, MD and studied at the University of Rochester, where she completed a combined BA/MD program as a Rochester Early Medical Scholar and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. During medical school, she participated in the global healthy pathway and received an international research fellowship to study outcomes of cataract surgery at a mobile eye clinic in Thailand, where she discovered her interest in ophthalmology. She was then selected to participate in the Medical Research Scholars Program at the National Institutes of Health, allowing her to spend a year at the National Eye Institute conducting research in age-related macular degeneration. Dr. Thavikulwat went on to complete her residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received the Normal Blair Resident Research Award, followed by medical retina fellowship back at the National Eye Institute. Dr. Thavikulwat is a published author in the field of ophthalmology and has been published in prestigious journals, such as Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, and JAMA Ophthalmology. She has presented her research at many conferences and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In her spare time, Dr. Thavikulwat enjoys playing competitive badminton, cooking Thai food, and traveling.   • Dr. Saya Nagori MD

    Dr. Saya Nagori is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Nagori is a published author in the field of Ophthalmology and comes to Maryland after several years with the NYU Department of Ophthalmology where she taught residents surgery and was well known for her work in telemedicine. She has been an invited speaker for several national organizations including the American Society of Cornea and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and Women in Ophthalmology. She also founded the group Physician Women Rally for encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation, and networking amongst female physicians. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Dr. Nagori graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class. She then went on to Villanova University, where she was a Presidential Scholar and the recipient of a merit-based academic scholarship. Following this, she went to Drexel University College of Medicine, where she received a scholarship from the Arnold P Gold Foundation to conduct an educational program on diabetic eye disease education. Dr. Nagori went on to complete her residency in New York at St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital Center and then spent a year in specialty surgical training at Kresge Eye Insitute in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery. She has over ten years of experience as an eye doctor. She was also invited to serve on the Board for the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons for the 2020 term. Dr. Nagori also has a wide range of expertise in telemedicine and advanced technologies for making patient care more accessible. She has been invited all over the country to give lectures and talks on a variety of topics at both academic centers as well as national conferences.
